Bro. Gareth Moody, one of 36,000 runners, completed the gruelling London Marathon on the 3rd October 2021 raising a magnificent sum of £1,500 for the Marie Curie Charity.

Like many, the last year has been extremely difficult for his family in that that they had lost a loved one, their mum, wee Sadie Moody. She was the one that kept them right and pulled them (especially Gareth) out of so many holes.

Her illness was something he and brother had never had to deal with before and as much as they gave their best, they would have been lost without the love and support of their family and friends.

They were also overwhelmed by the support of hospital staff, district nurses, care teams and the Marie Curie Nurses.

He been lucky enough to gain a place at this year’s London Marathon and has decided to try to give a little bit back by trying to raise a few pounds for Marie Curie.

No amount of money will be able to pay for the support the family received but to be able to give a Little back in the name of "Wee Sadie Moody" would mean “soo” much to them.

Gareth also wanted to than the Brethren of Abbey 180 for their kind and generous donations to the Marie Curie Charity.
